AI for Finance Teams
Nine short lessons on a finance team's month, with an assistant doing the sorting, drafting and arguing: the variance list with every figure quoted from the export and the reason left blank, a line-by-line question a budget holder can answer, a forecast whose assumptions each have an owner before the tool reads it as a skeptical finance director, a model explained by its inputs and its typed-in numbers, scenarios named by what happens with every value taken from the model, the money terms of a contract quoted with their clause numbers, a dashboard figure tied to the books before anyone quotes it, a front-page summary checked against the pack's own tables, and the month written on one page that someone else could run it from.
Financial analysts, FP and A teams, controllers and finance managers inside companies: the people who build the budget and the forecast and explain the numbers to the business. Not bookkeeping, reconciliations or tax returns; Vesnoro's accounting course covers those. Nothing here needs code beyond the spreadsheets you already use, and figures go only into the tool your employer has cleared for them, or in made-up form with the real ones added by hand.
What you will practise
- A cost line over budget, marked favorable
every figure and sign ticked against the export, and the reason left blank for the budget holder
- "I think it's probably the van hire"
the budget holder's own words quoted, never upgraded to confirmed
- A recovery in the second half with no name next to it
your number and your assumptions first, each with an owner, and the tool reading it as a skeptical finance director
