AI for Beginners Over 50
Nine short lessons for someone new to the tool but not to the work: what an assistant is and is not, tested on a subject you know thoroughly; asking clearly and asking again; your own rough words tidied with nothing added; a long letter or form explained, with the sections that say so; checking the answer that sounds sure and is wrong; a patient tutor for a new system at work; talking to it on your phone and reading what it heard; the never list; and one card with a weekly look back.
People over fifty who are new to AI assistants — told at work to start using AI, starting a new job, or going back to work after time away. You bring a working life's worth of judgment; only the tool is new. No technical background is needed, and work material goes only into the assistant your employer approved.
What you will practise
- The draft that promised last-minute requests would always fit in

what it wants, by when, and which section says so — then find those sentences yourself
- A fire code quote that was not in the inspector's letter
every name, number, date, rule and quote found at the source, or taken out
