AI for Product Managers
Nine short lessons on the drafting around product work, with an assistant doing the first pass: themes from customer feedback where every quote can be found in the notes word for word, a problem statement that names nothing you plan to build, user stories with acceptance criteria two people cannot disagree about, a PRD whose scope, non-goals, target and launch date stay open until their owner decides, competitor notes with a source and a date on every line, a priority write-up that says what you give up, release notes checked in the product rather than copied from the tickets, an experiment write-up with every number exactly as the analyst gave it, and one page for your whole product week.
Product managers and product owners in software or digital teams: apps, web products, internal platforms, the digital side of a non-software company. It assumes you already do the job, and it does not assume one method, one tracker or one company size; project schedules and status reports belong to the project management course. Nothing here needs code, and customer material goes only into the tool your employer approved, and only where your privacy policy allows.
What you will practise
- "Customers want", from one person who mentioned it in passing
themes that keep only the quotes you can find in the notes, word for word
- A request for an export to a spreadsheet, and nobody has said why
a problem page that names nothing to build, checked with the colleague who asked
- A polished PRD with a target and a launch date nobody set
decision needed, until the person who owns it has decided
